Anne was born to Luke and Maja Skywalker, but her legs were badly deformed and had to be amputated. It was decided that her legs would not be replaced with permanent cybernetics until the remainder of her thighs had finished their growth and development, sometime in her adulthood. Thus Anne was left with temporary cybernetics that had to be replaced every so often as her size increased.
Hurtful Rumors:
Learning to walk on legs she couldn't always feel was very difficult for young Anne growing up and often caused her a pretty bad tumble, one of which was infamous for leaving a deep scar across her face. From that moment, cruel rumors began to circulate; claiming that the Skywalker child had been cursed due to the degenerate union between Darth Vader's son and Darth Sidious' daughter, and that now "Little Annie" was not only beginning to look like her Grandfather, but was doomed to repeat his life. These rumors not only worried Anne, but deeply tormented her parents-- Most especially her father who became too fearful to even train his daughter in the ways of the Force. Anne was left feeling like a shame and an outcast before she was even eight years old. The horrible rumors persisted until they had become accepted gossip in the local village, leaving Anne friendless as well.
Kidnapped By Sith:
The hurt and uncertainties caused by these rumors left the Skywalkers vulnerable from outside, as well as inside. Unbeknownst to them, Annie had been targeted by a Sith master named Darth Venom since the day of her birth. With Luke's attention divided and stress mounting for the young family, he felt it was time to strike:
One rainy night, Maja went to confront her husband about his neglect, leaving Annie in the care of C1B1, Asplode and Kaboom. Only an hour later, the house was attacked by two Inquisitors (a group previously thought to be extinct) who quickly incapacitated the three guardians and went upstairs to retrieve seven year old Annie. Frightened, the child hid under her bed, but was tricked into revealing herself when the intruders made their activated lightsabers float from the room; seemingly as though they had left too. Annie was kidnapped and taken to a large Star Destroyer waiting in the Outer Rim. There, she was introduced to the menacing Count Looku and learned from him that the Sith were amassing again in preparation to crush the new Jedi Order while it was still small.
Time In Prison:
Though angered by The Count's taunting that she could have defended herself against her captors if her father had given her basic Jedi training, Annie declined his invitation to join the Sith and learn the Force from him. Count Looku decided to let his master do the convincing and locked Annie in the detention cell to await their arrival. She spent a lot of time in the cell; breaking out multiple times, only to be caught before reaching an escape pod. Eventually, Annie decided to practice meditation while in prison, thus learning patience as well as strengthening her ability to concentrate.
